"At the name of Jesus, every knee should bend, in the heavens and on Earth, and under the earth." - Philippians 2:10
The Holy Name Society is an international Catholic organization under the guidance of the Pope. The goals of the HNS are to promote fraternity among the men of a parish and provide opportunities for them to gather in a prayer; organize activities that assist the parish, and engage in social and charitable work in their community.
At St. John’s the Holy Name Society is open to all the men of the parish – there are currently about 50 active members.
They meet once a month and plan the activities and events which they will sponsor. In particular the Holy Name Society at St. John's focuses on events that families can do together. This includes movie nights, family game nights, and dances (Mother/Son; Father/Daughter). They also sponsor an annual Golf Tournament that raises scholarship money for students in our parish school.
The HNS joins with the Rosary Altar Society in sponsoring an annual Mass and Communion Breakfast for both societies. The current HNS president is Mr. Vincent Vanadia.
