We joyfully welcome families seeking to celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism for their child at St. John the Baptist, Most Holy Trinity, St. Ann Parish. This sacred rite marks the beginning of a child’s journey in the Catholic faith and into our parish community. Baptism is the foundational sacrament that cleanses us from original sin, incorporates us into the Body of Christ, and bestows new life as children of God.
Our Baptismal Packet offers essential guidance and information to help parents prepare for this special occasion. It outlines the theological significance of Baptism, explains the key parts of the baptismal rite, and describes the rich symbols used—such as water, sacred oils, the white garment, and the baptismal candle.
Parents are encouraged to be active parishioners, as Baptism is a commitment not only to the child’s faith journey but to the continued involvement in the life of the Church. The packet also details the roles and requirements for godparents, who must be fully initiated, practicing Catholics, and strong spiritual role models. It also addresses the eligibility of Christian Witnesses for interfaith families.
Baptisms are celebrated every Sunday in a group setting, and a Baptism Instruction Class is required for parents. The packet includes a checklist of necessary documents, sponsor eligibility forms, and parish expectations.
We invite you to explore the packet fully and contact the Parish House for guidance and scheduling.
